Secure Integration Methods

When proposing an integration partnership to a prospective developer or reseller partner, NMA always offers simple and secure methods of payment software integration.   Through our payment software providers, NMA offers several simple integration methods that accomplish more than just a standard payment interface.

Through the use of dynamic link libraries (DLL's) or thin clients, some payment software vendors are able to isolate the transaction from the point of sale.  The concept is simple:

  1. The point of sale communicates to the thin client that there is a transaction needing to be processed.
  2. The thin client communicates with the payment device and then facilitates the transmission of the payment transaction to the payment network for authorization.
  3. The thin client then receives the approval from the network and communicates the necessary data to the point of sale, in effect completely isolating the point of sale from the payment transaction.

Different products offer different benefits.  Some work in a plug and play manner with several payment devices.   Some encrypt the transactions.  Some come with letters from security assessors indicating that the use of that integration method effectively removes a developer from PA-DSS scope, while others have created partnerships that provide a reduced PA-DSS certification rate for those that integrate through the preferred method.

Contact NMA today for more information on the technology options that best meet your integration and payment security requirements.
