Gift Cards are an increasingly important customer retention tool for retail merchants.   Statistics show that gift card use has skyrocketed over the years and gift cards have become very popular with shoppers.

There are two basic types of gift card programs currently used by retailers and NMA supports both.  The first type is an "internal" gift card program.  Much like gift certificates, this is a program managed by the merchant's point of sale system and issued, tracked and managed by the merchant via their point of sale system.  This offers retailers an excellent measure of control and prevents retailers from having issues changing processig companies in the future because of gift cards.
